Hi Everyone,
My name is Crystal I have 5 personal dogs; Missy (my Queen and the angel of the house, chocolate Lab), Teddy (Lhasa Apso Mix), Simon (Shih Tzu/Peke mix), Juliet (Shih Tzu), Hope (Shih Tzu). I fell in LOVE with Shih Tzu breed about 2 1/2 years ago, when I adopted Teddy from a Crossroads Shih Tzu rescue. So after I became a volunteer and soon after that I became a foster mom. Simon was my first foster he was a 6 month old puppy straight out of a commercial breeding facility, he was released to the rescue when they realized something was obviously wrong with his back legs. After x-rays it was determined that Simon was born without hip joints, you would never know that if you saw him in action, he gets around just like any other dog! After having him in my home for about one month I knew he had found his permanent home here with me, he was then added as a permanent member to my family. I had continued foster many other dogs and then one day Juliet came into my life. After24 hours of having this little princess I was ready the rescue asking if I could switch out fosters with another foster home, she scared me with the amount of energy she had and my being so inexperienced with stitches I was freaking out. Needless to say Juliet didn't go anywhere and I couldn't imagine her not being a part of our family, she is mommy's little princess! Recently in November 2010 Hope came into my life, very pregnant, emaciated and with demodectic mange. A week after Hope settled into my home she had 3 beautiful puppies. After the pup's were weaned Hope began treatment for mange, it took a good 5 months before it cleared. After seeing all that Hope had gone through and being by her side every step of the way it was impossible for me to part with her, we adopted her shortly after. I couldn't imagine life without any of my 5 perfect furkids, they mean the world to me!
I joined this forum to meet people who share the same love and to hear of any pointers and suggestions with the breed!
Sincerely,
Crystal
