Hello From Horiwch NW, Help please

Hi, I'm Seb 26 live in Bolton

Not going to go into all my hobbies etc as im here just to look for another 'Rosie dog'

I have a Female Shih Tzu, in the past I've had a Manchester Terrier (super obedient dog) and the Terrier crossed with a greyhound also

I'm not into shows for my pets and all that stuff, I just love my dog for what she is and the joy she brings the family, she has more toys than any child, I'm just here because I'm looking to home another Shih tzu

Don't know where to start to look for a pup to be honest, dont want to buy one from a random and and end up with a farmed dog, would like to buy from a local breeder that dotes on their dogs

I can Travel and where North west area can go further for a great pup but would rather not go over 200 mile round trip, looking for a Female pup, preferable brown & white or black & white like mine.

If you cantact the above organization they will be able to give you a list of reputable breeders in your area also any rescue organizations if thats a route you have considered

A bit on my dog,

Took Rosie on from an Old lady who my mum used to home care for, she could no longer care for the dog so she came to live with us, the old lady found her as a pup tied to a tree abandoned up Rivington, she's around 9 years old now we have had her about 3 and half years, when we got her she had the worst breath on earth! it was minging, got her down the vet's and got her fixed up, she had rotten teeth and was clearly in distress i think if he hadn't got her to the vet she would have wound up with serious problems very soon,

she now has few teeth, two at the top and two at the bottom, but clearly loves her life now and the lack of teeth haven't stopped her playing with toys and chomping every mealy down, often mix extra olive oil in with her food to ease digestion has she some times has trouble having a poo, dont know if this is breed specific or just Rosie struggling, olive oil sorts this out and she can pass it much better.

so that's Rosies storey, im just gutted we missed the first part of her life and she will be sorely missed when shes gone, try to make the most out of every day as shes getting on now, not that it shows, she can still jump on the high sofa from the slippery wood floor and still runs and runs and runs

one thing that does my head in, when shes out shes a nightmare sniffing bloody everything, a walk that would take 45 mins with the other dogs winds up a hour and half with rosie as she has to investigate every bloody smell and thing she comes across, are all of them like this?? she plays deff when you shout her to come and follow and leave what shes upto.

She also has a job, she goes to a old peoples place 3 times a week 9-5 entertains and gets doted on all day by them.

Yep they all like a good sniff but usually mine like to stop and poo every 2 mins

Been after one for the best of a year, i got pictures off know of a breeder in Farnworth but after seeing her dogs i wasn't happy, they dont look right, they look very butch and muscular? not what i believe the breed to be.

What a lovely story its always good to hear of someone giving a neglected shiddie a new beginning and from the vid she looks as if she has well landed on all four paws

If no help on the above you could always resort to Epupz

I found the breeders of all 3 of mine on there you just have to try to weed out the breeders just in it for the money if you do go armed with all the right questions and the breed standard you should be able to find a responsible good breeder

It just depends what type of shiddie you are looking for because there is quite a few different types that all fall within the breed standard

If you take a look through the photo gallery on here you will see what I mean

My first breeder bred a quite small dainty puppy whereas Louie's breeder had larger more muscular puppys

I know how hard it is to find a good bred puppy, been there, done that, worn the t shirt lol, but now have 3 fab Tzu's who I would not change for the world...!!!


and yea.. mine sniff and takes ages to go for a walk... but come back as call and shake a treat container, they'll do anything for a treat lol
